Discover how creativity and sustainability come together at Fashion & Upcycling Lab, a hands-on STEAM camp for students in grades 3rd–9th. This week invites young designers to rethink fashion by transforming outdated or ill-fitting garments into fresh, functional, and totally personalized pieces. Through guided projects, campers will explore how design, problem-solving, and self-expression intersect—learning that great style doesn’t require buying new, but reimagining what already exists.Students will experiment with a variety of upcycling techniques, such as converting long-sleeve garments into sleeveless or short-sleeve styles, turning old jeans into custom skirts or accessories, shortening hems for modern silhouettes, and using basic pattern-hacking methods to reshape clothing.
Campers are encouraged to bring in garments they’re ready to part with—or pieces they love but don't quite fit anymore—and leave with refreshed, wearable fashion that tells a story. The week concludes with a Friday Showcase, where families are invited to celebrate each student’s creative voice and sustainable design journey.
Registration for this schedule starts on 02/12/2026 and ends on 06/26/2026
Participants must currently be in grades 3 to 9.
