3:45 PM - 5:00 PM
Enter the studio… if you dare! In this Stop Motion Studio, young filmmakers will bring cute monsters and ghosts, haunted houses, mysterious objects, and Halloween-inspired worlds to life through the magic of stop-motion animation.
Students will work with a themed collection of 3D-printed characters, miniature sets, and props inspired by fan-favorite spooky films such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline, along with haunted mansion décor, skeletons, pumpkins, ghosts, and other Halloween favorites. They’ll recreate movie-inspired scenes while inventing completely original spooky stories of their own.
Throughout this 13-week filmmaking adventure, students will learn progressively more advanced animation and cinematography techniques, including smooth character movement, dramatic camera angles, lighting, character acting, disappearing and transformation effects, flying objects, atmospheric effects, sound effects, editing, and more.
Every three weeks brings a new spooky filmmaking challenge, giving students opportunities to experiment with different characters, stories, sets, and techniques. The session culminates in a Spooky Stop Motion Film Festival, where students will premiere their favorite creations for family and friends.
No filmmaking experience is necessary—just imagination, creativity, and a willingness to make spooktacular movies!
