Description

Students in grades 3–8 will explore digital art using apps like Procreate, learning to design characters, tell stories, and create short pieces. Along the way, they’ll strengthen creativity, collaboration, and tech confidence—ending with a showcase to feature original work.

Description

Pixels & Plots is a digital storytelling class offered during the fall for students in grades 3–8. Using apps like Procreate as their creative canvas, students will explore the art of visual storytelling while building a strong foundation in timeless art fundamentals.

Throughout the session, young creators will dive into:

  • Character Design – from first sketches to fully realized original characters
  • Storytelling Tools – including plot mapping, storyboarding, and dialogue creation
  • Art Techniques – such as perspective, motion, and dynamic comic layouts
Along the way, students will collaborate on group projects, practice creative problem-solving, and develop their unique artistic voices. At the end of the session, students will share their projects with friends and family during an end-of-the-session showcase.

Whether they dream of becoming writers, artists, or game designers, students will gain the confidence and skills to bring their ideas to life—one pixel and one plot at a time.

Restrictions

Participants must currently be in grades 3 to 8.
