In this book & makers club, students will read and discuss fantasy genre favorites like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Wings of Fire, and The Hunger Games, then bring them to life through hands-on STEAM projects. From crafting magical artifacts to designing dragon wings, students will explore themes of mythology, magic, survival, and dragons while building teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity.

Step into the worlds of your favorite fantasy stories! In this book-based makers club, students will read and discuss beloved fantasy adventures, such as Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Wings of Fire, and The Hunger Games, then bring those worlds to life through hands-on STEAM-inspired projects. Each week, we’ll explore themes of mythology, magic, survival, and dragons through creative making — from crafting magical artifacts and building model arenas, to designing dragon wings or creating our own myth-inspired inventions. Along the way, students will practice teamwork, problem-solving, and design thinking while celebrating the books they love. By the end of the session, every participant will have both memorable projects and a deeper connection to the power of storytelling.
Participants must currently be in grades 3 to 8.
Registration starts on 08/30/2025 and ends on 10/18/2025.
