Our homes are shaped by the objects we choose to surround ourselves with. In this six-week, hands-on class, participants will explore papier-mâché sculpture and weaving techniques to create meaningful, artful decor designed to enhance their personal living spaces.
This course emphasizes play, experimentation, and personal aesthetic rather than perfection or rigid outcomes. Participants will work with form, texture, color, and material to create three distinctive handmade pieces: an artistic pennant-style light, a backed textile weaving suitable for wall display, and a small tabletop sculpture.
Throughout the class, students will be guided through approachable techniques for building sculptural forms, weaving with intention, and combining materials in thoughtful, expressive ways. No prior experience with sculpture or fiber arts is required—just a willingness to explore and make.
